Acadian

The men of Acadiana salute the Irish who made the journey with the refugees from Nova Scotia called Acadians and who also settled among the Acadians who inhabited Southwest Louisiana. Adopting many of the customs of their French-speaking neighbors, the Irish of Acadiana nonetheless maintained their Irish identity and helped contribute to the faith and culture of one of the most unique regions of the country.
The Acadian Division of the Ancient Order comprises all members who live in and around the city of Lafayette and the Acadiana Region.
